We were supposed to have ice and sleet and all that bad stuff. We had sleet that quickly melted but not much else. I parked facing the rising sun in case the weather people were right. They weren't. Now I have to either push my car forward or get my car wet and muddy by going through the puddle.

Can you go through the passenger side to get in without getting it muddy?

Climb through the hatch.

I still have some snow and stuff up here. Apparently just a few miles north of me, there's like 5 inches and it's in the roads and everything. Crazy how big of a difference just ten miles or so can make.

Have a board laying around? Put it in the puddle and stand on it to get in the car?

I wonder why they needed a panel line here... On my 2012 the whole rear hatch is a single panel.

I've wondered the same thing.

I wound up crawling over the passenger seat after sliding the drivers seat back. I'm short so I didn't have room without doing so. Hate doing it because it's hard finding tv sweet spot again

Here is my thinking behind it. Because Mazda is a small company they have to be highly efficient and optimized. So rather than having a person or a robot individually placing the badging on each vehicle they have set up a separate line just for painting and badging that little mini rear door panel. This way they can quickly whip up a badged panel depending on the spec and final domestic market for the car (the JDM 3 is called the Axela and Mazdaspeed/MSP).

Maybe. But on further inspection it may be just an easy way to install/cover up this stuff. I took this picture just now.

Back up camera, hatch release, tag light, and not pictured another tag light and car lock button.

The 2012 has the tag in the bumper. I'm beginning to think they did it this way to stuff it all in one spot. Maybe it saves on wiring? I know they made a big deal about rewiring the 2 to save weight and money.

That good that they moved everything into the rear hatch. I've already have to glue one of my tag lights back in after its attaching tabs were broken when someone tapped my bumper while parallel parking behind me.

No. If my attire is getting ruined by a puddle on accord of a lady, I'm gonna at least have some fun with it.

And why not. Just make sure to keep running afterwards.

That sucks. I rarely parallel park these days but street parking in college I got to be a pro. Can't say the same for all the people who left marks on my bumpers.

Since I'm from way up north I get to feel superior when it comes to dealing with winter. Part of that is giving you guys a little shit when it gets "cold". All in good fun.

Oh yeah. Northerners love to give us a hard time during the winter. We get to make fun of them when they say it's hot at 80*F. We get heat and humidity. A few summers ago we had a record breaking heat spell and I was driving my truck with no A/C (because it didn't work, not because I'm dumb) and I work outside. That was rough.
